The Sri Lanka rupee has depreciated by 1.6% against the US dollar in 2026, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka stated.

The dollar buying rate stood at Rs. 311.76 and the selling rate at Rs. 319.31 as of 31 March.

The Central Bank noted that the depreciation reflects emerging external sector pressures.
