Filling station owners across Sri Lanka have announced a silent protest to be held tomorrow (06) in front of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
Fuel Distributors’ Association Executive Committee Member D V Shantha Silva said the protest is driven by ongoing challenges faced by fuel station operators, particularly due to the odd-even fuel distribution system.
He noted that the current pricing formula allocates a 6% operational margin to CPC and other corporations, while the commission for station owners has been reduced from the previous 3%.
Silva also pointed to delays and irregularities in fuel supply, which have disrupted operations and added pressure on station staff.
