The Department of Meteorology has issued a Red advisory for strong winds and rough seas in sea areas from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

The advisory is in effect until 8.30 a.m. tomorrow (11), with gusty winds of up to 60 km/h expected and sea conditions likely to be very rough at times.

Naval and fishing communities have been advised not to venture into these sea areas until further notice. Other affected sea areas may experience gusty winds of up to 50 km/h.
