Prime Minister(PM) Harini Amarasuriya stated that school events should be organised in a manner that does not place a financial burden on parents.

She noted that schools should not collect additional funds from parents beyond approved allocations for annual plans and budgets.

The Prime Minister also stated that appointments or transfers granted to teachers and principals should be accepted and duties assumed at the assigned stations.

She made these remarks during discussions with teachers and principals from the Hambantota, Tangalle, and Walasmulla education zones on 15 March regarding upcoming education reforms.
