The Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA) has found its new Chairperson in Dr. Dushan Laleesha Kahatapitiya, who takes over following the resignation of Prof. Arjuna de Silva last September, following a 13-year tenure.

Dr. Kahatapitiya was presented with his appointment letter by Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage at the ministry premises recently.

The new SLADA Chairperson has a PhD in Sports Science from the Manuel Fajardo University of Sciences of Physical Culture and Sport in Cuba.

He has also served as the Administrative Manager of the D’Fernanda Sports Centre in Quito, Ecuador, besides being a member of the IBA Sports Development Programme.

Dr. Kahatapitiya is also a medal-winner at the International YMCA Boxing Championships apart from being a former pugilist with the national team.
