The Chief Incumbent of the Kolonnawa Sri Maha Bodhi Temple, Ven. Borelle Kovida Thera, 48, passed away on 1 September, while being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Colombo National Hospital.

He delivered dhamma sermons both locally and overseas and had also authored a few books on the dhamma. 

The late monk who was born on 14 February 1976, in Borella, had been ordained during his childhood days.

His cremation took place at the Kolonnawa Public Cemetery yesterday (3).
