Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa has recently spoken about Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake (AKD) and a ‘favour’ done by him for AKD.

During a recent programme where Rajapaksa had responded to questions posed to him on social media, a question was asked on whether he had helped AKD get his son employment in the now defunct State-owned budget airline – Mihin Lanka.

When the question was posed to Rajapaksa, he was seen smiling and saying that he had helped many people gain employment at the airline at that time and that he couldn’t remember whether AKD’s son had also been among those whom he had helped. He (Rajapaksa) refrained from giving a definitive answer to the question.

However, Rajapaksa further noted that there was no issue in helping a child of any politician because there was no necessity to affiliate children and families with the politics of their parents or family members. “Although some people do not respect the privacy of my son, I will always respect the privacy of every politician’s child,” Rajapaksa added.
