The opening match of the West Indies Under-19 Tour of Sri Lanka – Youth four-day Test got underway at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (5). Hosts Sri Lanka, winning the toss, elected to bat first, putting up a formidable 432 for 8 before declaring.
Dinura Kalupahana, the batting maestro, was the pick of the stars with his magnificent 150. Pulindu Perera added 71, while Malsha Tharupathi’s 65 steadied the ship for the junior Lions.
Sri Lanka won the three-game youth ODI series against the Windies 2-1.
