Former SriLankan Airlines Chairman Nishantha Wickramasinghe was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over 3 serious corruption allegations during his tenure.
He is accused of causing financial losses of USD 4,512 and USD 19,160 by altering flight schedules and removing passengers, and of misusing Rs. 1.25 million in public funds for an election campaign event in 2014.
The arrest took place in the Nawala area, and he is scheduled to be presented before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
