The Department of Meteorology warns of showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-western provinces today (13). 

Heavy rain up to 100mm is likely in parts of Western, Sabaragamuwa, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara. 

Showers are also expected in the Northern province and Anuradhapura. Strong winds up to 60kmph may affect many areas, including the central hills and coastal regions.

 The public is advised to take necessary precautions.
