The Sri Lankan Cabinet has approved the proposal to sign the protocol of the amended double taxation and tax evasion avoidance agreement with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The amendment to the thirty-one January 2013 agreement was initiated by Luxembourg to comply with the minimum standards of the G-20 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Inclusive Framework. 

Sri Lanka's tax officers reviewed and consented to the changes, leading to the approval by the Cabinet, following due process.
