Work is nearly complete on a state-of-the-art LED lighting system at R. Premadasa Stadium, making it Sri Lanka’s second international cricket venue with six LED towers after Dambulla.

Matches were temporarily halted for the upgrade, and as a result, the upcoming Australia-Sri Lanka ODIs on 12 and 16 February will be played as day matches instead of under lights.
