The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds affecting the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-Central and North-Western provinces, and the Monaragala, Hambantota, Trincomalee and Mannar districts.

The advisory is in effect until 11.00 a.m. tomorrow (15), with winds of 40–50 kmph expected at times due to active south-west monsoon conditions.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant and follow further advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology.
