The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will shut down the third generator at the Norochcholai coal power plant from midnight today (13) for a 25-day maintenance period, reducing the national grid’s capacity by 300 megawatts. 

CEB assures there will be no power interruptions, as the other two generators remain operational. 

Once repairs are complete, the first generator will undergo scheduled maintenance.
