President to attend India AI impact summit 2026 in Delhi

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to depart for India today (17) to participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi. 


The invitation to attend the summit was extended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


The summit, held under Prime Minister Modi’s patronage, aims to promote the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity. 


According to the President’s Media Division, President Dissanayake is expected to address the gathering on February 19. The five-day event will convene Heads of State from 20 countries and representatives from over 45 nations.


Key discussions will focus on the future direction of artificial intelligence technology and its potential to tackle global challenges. 


During his visit, the President is also anticipated to engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi and other international leaders, strengthening diplomatic ties and exploring collaborative opportunities.
