• Strap - Through strong showing at Mercantile Netball League

DFCC Bank PLC’s Women’s team emerged as Plate Champions at the recently concluded Mercantile Netball League Tournament, reflecting the Bank’s continued focus on team-building beyond the workplace.

DFCC Bank fielded two teams across the Women’s and mixed categories, encouraging wider participation and highlighting the role of sport in strengthening collaboration, discipline and shared accountability among employees.

The Women’s team, led by captain Vinuri Ranasinghe and guided by team manager Ruwani Weerasinghe and coach GSD Fernando, displayed consistency throughout the tournament.

Team members Ashivitha Vickneshwaram, Prathibha Nisansala, Kaveesha Seneviratne, Dulmini Mallawarachchi, Nirasha Dhananji, Samadhi Sri Lakmini, Kavindya Ariyarathne and Nethmi De Silva contributed to the team’s performance.

While the result marks a notable achievement, the Bank noted that the broader value lies in initiatives that support team cohesion. DFCC Bank views sport as an extension of workplace engagement, providing opportunities to strengthen trust, communication and collective responsibility.
