The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds in sea areas off the coasts from Hambantota to Pottuvil and Kalpitiya to Mullaitivu via Mannar and Kankesanthurai.

The advisory will remain in effect until 11.00 a.m. tomorrow (30).

Winds of around 50–60 kmph are expected at times in the affected sea areas.
