The Cabinet has approved a Rs. 1.008 billion project to renovate 126 dilapidated school hostels across the island between 2026 and 2028.

The project aims to upgrade essential facilities and improve the education and living conditions of students residing in school hostels.

The proposal was submitted by Prime Minister and Education Minister Harini Amarasuriya.
