The government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring equal access to education for all children, including those with special needs.

Speaking at the "Sarasavi Diriyo Abhiman 2026" programme, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya said no child should be left behind in the education system and called for better support for students with special needs in universities.

Financial assistance of Rs. 100,000 each was also presented to 236 university students with special needs.
