The Department of Railways stated main line train services will operate only up to Ambepussa today (02), while Puttalam line services will run up to Kochchikade.

Coastal and Kelani Valley line operations are expected to continue as normal.

A total of 18 trains on the main and Puttalam lines have been halted due to inaccessibility to Polgahawela, Rambukkana, Kurunegala, Ganewatta, Chilaw, and Puttalam caused by adverse weather.

Meanwhile, Trade Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe assured that there is no shortage of essential food items in the country, adding that security forces are distributing essential goods islandwide.
