The Supreme Court has determined that certain clauses of the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill are inconsistent with the Constitution and require a special majority in Parliament, the Speaker announced today (22).

The Court also determined that Clause 17, in its present form, requires both a special majority in Parliament and approval at a referendum.

The Supreme Court’s determination was presented to Parliament by the Speaker at the commencement of today’s sitting.
