The Supreme Court (SC) of Sri Lanka has dismissed two fundamental rights petitions filed by former Minister Wimal Weerawansa and others, which sought to nullify the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India on the digital identity card project.
A three-judge bench, led by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, accepted the Attorney General’s (AG) preliminary objections and dismissed the petitions without a hearing.
