Department of Meteorology noted that the heat index is likely to reach the ‘Caution level’ in several areas.

The alert applies to parts of Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-Western provinces, and the districts of Monaragala, Mannar, Anuradhapura and Vavuniya.
