A T-56 assault rifle, a repeater gun and a pistol have been recovered from a concealed underground cache at a cemetery in Hanwella.

The Central Crime Investigation Bureau stated that the weapons were found based on information obtained during the interrogation of alleged organised crime figure Lalitha Kannangara, alias ‘Bus Lalith’.

He was deported from Dubai to Sri Lanka.

Police are continuing investigations into the weapons and their alleged links to organised criminal activities.
