Sri Lanka has garnered rare international recognition as Brief Garden in Beruwala becomes the first Sri Lankan property to be featured in The New York Times Style Magazine, one of the world’s most influential publications.

Once a humble rubber plantation, Brief Garden was transformed into a stunning living masterpiece by the visionary Sri Lankan designer Bevis Bawa. 

Starting from the 1920s, Bawa crafted the garden into a lush tropical sanctuary where dense greenery, sculptural elements, and tranquil spaces blend seamlessly in harmony.

The feature lauds the garden’s unique design language and enduring artistic legacy, cementing its status among the world’s most inspiring and thoughtfully curated landscapes.
