The Ministry of Health says recent surveys have revealed an increase in the percentage of dengue larvae detected in schools across the country.

Acting Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, Kapila Kannangara, stated that dengue larvae have been found in 40 per cent of schools inspected so far.

He added that fumigation activities are currently being carried out at centres where the GCE Ordinary Level examination is being conducted, as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students.
