The Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka says showers or thundershowers are likely in parts of the island after 2.00 p.m. today (24).

Rain is expected in the Western, Southern, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are also likely in Ratnapura, Galle and Matara.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in other areas, while misty conditions are expected in several provinces during the early morning.
