President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Chief Prelates of the Sri Lanka Amarapura and Ramanna Maha Nikayas yesterday (2) to seek blessings for the New Year.

The President met Most Venerable Karagoda Uyangoda Maithri Murthy Thero at the Wellawatte headquarters. The Chief Prelate chanted Seth Pirith and invoked blessings for the President’s success in the coming year.

At the Sri Vidyawas Maha Pirivena in Mirigama, the President called on Most Venerable Makulewe Wimala Nayaka Thero.

The Chief Prelate offered his blessings for the government’s initiatives and the nation's well-being.

The visits were attended by MP Manjula Sugath Ratnayake and other officials. 

Earlier in the day, the President also paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy and received blessings from the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters.
