Around 3,500 police officers will be deployed in Anuradhapura to ensure security during the upcoming Poson festival, officials noted at a meeting of the district Poson committee.

The meeting was held under the leadership of Ven. Ethalawatunuwewe Ñāṇathilaka Thero and attended by government officials and security forces personnel.

Authorities also noted that no dansal will be allowed to operate without prior approval, while devotees were urged to help maintain a clean environment during the festival period.
