The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for several parts of Sri Lanka.
The heat index - how hot it feels on the human body—is expected to reach the “Caution Level” tomorrow (April 15) in the Northern, North-Western, North-Central, Western, Eastern and Southern provinces, as well as Monaragala district.
According to the department, the heat index is calculated using both temperature and relative humidity, reflecting the conditions experienced by the human body.
Authorities warned that prolonged exposure to the sun may cause fatigue, while continued outdoor activity could lead to heat cramps.
The public is advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activities during this period.
