Former Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera noted that the National Fuel Pass QR-based system was developed by Jayantha De Silva and the team at ICTA, Supun Weerasinghe and the team at Dialog Axiata, and Shevan Goonathilake and the team at Millennium IT.

Wijesekera stated that the platform was developed within two weeks of the first meeting and rolled out within one month.

He noted that the system was implemented at no cost to the government, with support from multiple stakeholders.
