Sarath Weerawansa, the brother of former minister Wimal Weerawansa, has been remanded until 22 July after being arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID).

He was arrested over the alleged misuse of state-owned vehicles belonging to the State Engineering Corporation and was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court, which ordered his remand.

The FCID is continuing investigations into the case.
