- Dep. Min. of Defence attends as the chief guest
Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd.), attended the awarding ceremony of the Sri Lanka International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) and Handgun Level III Nationals – 2025 as the chief guest.
He was welcomed by National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka (NRASL) President Air Vice Marshal Ruwan Chandima.
The event took place at the Wave’n Lake Navy Banquet Hall, Welisara, on Sunday (22).
The IPSC Nationals, held from 18-22 June, drew the participation of 270 competitors representing 16 entities, including the three armed forces, underscoring the event’s growing prominence in the national sporting calendar.
The formal proceedings of the ceremony commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, followed by the traditional lighting of the oil lamp and a welcome speech by the NRASL President.
The prize distribution took place in two phases, with the chief guest personally awarding accolades to twelve top recipients during the second phase.
Match Director Rear Admiral Manjula Dissanayake, Attribution Committee Chairperson Major General Kenneth Edema (Retd.), IPSC Sri Lanka Regional Director Menaka Liyanage, Secretary Ijaz Meezan and Treasurer Denzil Kao also were present at the occasion.
