A search and rescue operation has been launched in the Kalu Ganga after reports of a person jumping from the Kalutara Bridge.

Kalutara South Police have stated that Sri Lanka Navy lifesaving personnel and divers are involved.

A 32-year-old man from Kalutara North has been reported missing, and his mobile phone was recovered from the bridge.

Police have also stated that CCTV footage shows the individual heading towards the bridge.
