The Disaster Management Center(DMC) stated that the death toll from recent severe weather had risen to 618 by 8.00 p.m. yesterday(06), while 209 people remained missing as search operations continued. 

All 25 districts have been affected, impacting 2,078,436 people from 583,030 families.

Gampaha, Puttalam and Colombo are the worst-affected districts.

About 100,124 individuals from 29,874 families are staying in 990 relief centres.

The DMC said 4,071 houses have been destroyed and 71,121 partially damaged.
