Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers on Monday (22) noted the establishment of 20 Consultancy Committees aimed at bolstering domestic manufacturing and addressing sector-specific challenges.

This move, according to the cabinet decisions, aims to provide targeted policy support to key local industries not previously covered by the Government’s advisory framework.

It is expected that committees are to be formed for the indigenous medicine and traditional medical sector, the confectioneries production sector, the traditional handicraft industries sector, the chicken-related industries sector, the ornamental fish and seaweed sector, the creative craft sector, and the event management sector.
