The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered that the case involving Shashi Weerawansa, who was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for possessing a forged diplomatic passport, be called again on 12 October.

Sashi Weerawansa, who is currently out on bail, appeared before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today (28).

The court was informed that the prison sentence imposed on her had been affirmed by the Colombo High Court and that an appeal had been filed before the Supreme Court.

As the relevant Supreme Court journal entries had not been submitted, the Magistrate granted time for them to be presented and postponed the case until 12 October.
