A shoe garland has been placed on a portrait of Archuna Ramanathan displayed in Jaffna.

The banner was put up on a main road, with the garland placed around the image.

The incident comes after a verbal exchange between MP Archuna Ramanathan and Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam at a meeting of the Valikamam North Regional Development Committee over the proposed transfer of Tellippalai Hospital to central government control.
