President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed officials to complete compensation payments for partially damaged houses affected by Cyclone Ditwah before the end of May.

The directive was issued during a review meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat today (22), focusing on ongoing relief and housing reconstruction efforts.

Officials said the government-approved compensation of Rs. 500,000 for partially damaged homes must be fully disbursed, except in exceptional cases.

The meeting also discussed relocating families in camps to temporary housing and identifying safer resettlement locations.

Several senior officials, including representatives from the Finance and Housing Ministries, attended the discussion.
