The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) is enhancing language and skills training for Sri Lankan job seekers bound for Japan, in partnership with IM Japan.

During a meeting with IM Japan’s Chairman Hiroshi Kimura and Managing Director Masahiko Fukasawa, SLBFE General Manager D.D.P. Senanayake emphasised efforts to raise standards and awareness among job seekers. Kimura highlighted the growing demand for Sri Lankan nursing trainees and proposed the creation of a dedicated training pool.

IM Japan also pledged to support training for the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) program, while SLBFE distributed air tickets to 20 individuals heading to Japan for work. A total of 600 have gained employment under the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP), and 51 through the SSW program.
