Sri Lankan all-rounder Dunith Wellalage returned to the island this morning (19) following the sudden passing of his father, Suranga Wellalage.

Wellalage arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) from Abu Dhabi at 8:25 a.m. His father, a former cricketer, passed away yesterday (18) at the age of 54, reportedly due to a heart attack. 

The tragic news came on the same day his son was representing Sri Lanka in an Asia Cup match against Afghanistan.
