Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa met Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in New Delhi on Tuesday (4) to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Sri Lanka and India.

The meeting focused on enhancing institutional professionalism, legislative research, and youth participation in parliament.

Both leaders agreed to promote collaboration through study tours, capacity-building programs, and structured exchanges.

Premadasa also toured the new Speaker’s Office in the Lok Sabha complex, observing its fully digitalized, paperless operations a model of modern legislative efficiency.
