The Cabinet has approved awarding the contract to construct a 28 km, 220kV double circuit transmission line from Mannar Grid Substation to Mullikulam Collection Grid Substation.

The project is part of the Mullikulam Wind Power Transmission Project.

The contract was awarded to ISL & Fentons Joint Venture (Jyoti Structure Limited, India and Hayleys Fentons Limited, Sri Lanka) as the lowest responsive bidder.

The value of the contract is Rs. 2,269.18 million, excluding tax, following recommendations of the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee.
