The Department of Irrigation has issued an ‘Amber’ flood warning to the low lying areas of the Malwathu Oya basin today (15).

According to the warning, which is valid until 1.00 p.m. tomorrow (16), highlighted the possibility of the occurrence of minor floods in Vengalacheddikulam, Madu, Mussalai and Nanaddan Divisional Secretariat (DS) divisions due to the inclement weather conditions. 

Accordingly, the Department urged residents and travellers to remain on alert in this regard.
