Sri Lanka recorded 67,762 tourist arrivals during the first eight days of 2026, data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed.

India was the top source market with 11,367 visitors, followed by Russia (8,425), the United Kingdom (6,067), Germany (5,306) and Australia (3,285).

The SLTDA also noted that 252,761 tourists arrived in January 2025, while 2,362,521 foreign visitors were recorded for the full year 2025.
