The Badulla District Disaster Management Unit (BDDMCU) has prohibited visitors from bathing and even going near Ravana Falls in Ella.
The decision was taken due to the rapid rise in water levels caused by prevailing torrential rainfall.
The BDDMCU urges the public to refrain from going near the waterfall for the time being, as the continuous heavy rainfall pounding the water catchment areas of the waterfall poses a significant risk.
