Australia has provided Narcotic Identification Kit (NIK) test kits to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to support efforts to combat illicit drug trafficking.
The kits were handed over by Australian High Commissioner Matthew Duckworth to Coast Guard Director General Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph.
The handover took place during a meeting involving the Deputy Minister of Defence and Australian Federal Police authorities.
The kits will help Coast Guard officers quickly identify suspected narcotics and strengthen maritime law enforcement.
