Nalanda College Colombo Old Boys won the 24th edition of the Col. Henry Steel Olcott Memorial Old Boys’ Cricket Tournament hosted by Ananda College OBA and organised by the Col. Henry Steel Olcott Sports Foundation at the Ananda College’s Col. G.W. Rajapakse Stadium on Sunday (25). Nalanda College Colombo Old Boys beat Mahinda College Galle Old boys by 7 runs in the final.

Mahinda College Galle, Maliyadeva College Kurunegala, Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda and Rahula College Matara contested from group ‘A’ in the first round.

Ananda College Colombo, Dharmaraja College Kandy, Nalanda College Colombo and Dharmapala College Pannipitiya vied for honours from group ‘B’ in the first round.

Unbeaten Mahinda College Galle Old Boys and Nalanda College Colombo Old Boys entered the final as the respective group champions in the first round. 

Mahinda Old boys beat Maliyadeva Old Boys’, Dharmasoka Old Boys’ and Rahula Old Boys’in the first round. 

Nalanda Old boys got the better of Ananda Old Boys, Dharmaraja Old Boys and Dharmapala Old Boys, respectively in the first round. Nishantha Ranathunga, ex-Sri Lanka Cricketer was the chief guest. 

Special awards:

Player of the Tournament and Best Batsman – Hirantha Wijesinghe (Mahinda College Old Boys)

Best Bowler – Ravinath Jayawickrama (Nalanda College Old Boys)

Best Fielder – Sampath Hettiarachchi (Nalanda College Old Boys).
