The ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ Secretariat has launched a new national initiative to enhance the ethics, attitudes, and service standards of three-wheeler drivers serving tourists.
The program, costing Rs. 25 million, will train 10,000 drivers across all 9 provinces, with 10 sessions scheduled per province in 2025.
It will cover traffic rules, personal hygiene, professional conduct, and tourist engagement, while also introducing a specialized mobile application to support service improvements.
Officials from multiple tourism and transport bodies, including the Tourism Development Authority and various driver associations, took part in the inaugural discussion held yesterday (18).
