Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne stated that Artificial Intelligence-driven entrepreneurship will transform Sri Lanka’s economy.

He made the remarks at the ITAM–32 International Conference organised by the University of Vavuniya.

The Deputy Minister noted that AI is reshaping the global economy and highlighted the need to promote startups using technologies such as cloud computing and data analytics.

He stated that the government is focused on improving digital literacy, strengthening data infrastructure, and ensuring responsible data governance and cybersecurity.

He also noted the importance of reducing the digital divide and expanding opportunities for rural, women and young entrepreneurs.
